Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-11-03

This page explains what data we collect when you order a book or a handbook, what it is used for, who can access it, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Loïc CHALUMEAU, ENCHIRA EI, Entrepreneur individuel (EI), 8 bis rue Abel, 75012 Paris, France, SIRET 818 930 067 00025, RCS Paris 818 930 067. Contact: contact@enchira-books.com.

2. What our books are

The books and handbooks offered on enchira-books.com are tools for personal reflection. They do not predict the future and do not claim to tell you who you are. They offer avenues for reflection; you remain the only judge of what speaks to you. They do not replace the advice of a doctor, a psychologist or any other professional.

3. The data we collect

For the order

  • your email address, and that of the person you are giving the books to;
  • for a gift order: your first name and, if you write one, your message, included in the email that brings the books to the person and deleted with their data;
  • your answer to the box “I would like to receive the Enchira Books newsletter (new books, offers)”;
  • the offer chosen, the language of the books, and the promo code or gift code used;
  • for a printed version: the recipient’s first and last name, the delivery address and its additional details, and a phone number for the carrier.

For a gift code

  • the buyer’s email address, to which the code is sent;
  • if you write them: the first name of the person you are giving it to, and your message;
  • the code, its value, its dates and the order it paid for.

For the calculations and the writing

  • the first names and surname at birth, the first name and surname in use;
  • sex and family situation;
  • if you write any: your particular comments on the names (first name changed or added, names reversed…);
  • the date, time and place of birth (town, region, country, and the geographical coordinates of the town);
  • if you provide them: the parents’ first names and surnames;
  • if you send them: face and full-length photos, and the graphic style you would like.

To prove your consents

For each box checked, and for your retention choice: which one, the version of the text displayed, the date and the time.

For payment and invoicing

Payment is made on Mollie’s page. We never see your card number: Mollie only tells us that the payment succeeded, with its reference.

The invoice shows your email address, the amount, the payment reference and, if you provide them, the name or company name, billing address and VAT number to be printed on it.

For a review

Fourteen days after delivery, we send you a single email with a link to give your opinion. If you reply: your rating, your text, the signature you choose (first name and initial of the surname) and whether or not you agree to its publication.

For a message

If you write to us from the “Contact us” page: your email address, your name if you give it, the order number if you enter it, your message, and our reply.

For a free session

If you request the 45-minute session from the “Support” page: the order number and its email address (to check that the session is open to you), your name if you give it, the chosen format (video call or phone), your phone number for a call, your availability, your message, and our reply.

For a resource person

If you are one of our resource people: the name you choose to publish, your email address and, if you give it, your phone number (never published), your photo if you give one, your practices, your presentation, your languages, your location, your contact link if you have one, and the date of your consent.

4. What it is used for, and on what legal basis

  • Calculating and writing the books ordered, and sending them to you: this is the performance of the contract you enter into with us, and your explicit consent, given by checking a box, for the birth data.
  • An order for another person: you declare on your honor that they have given you their explicit permission. For a person under 15, consent comes from a holder of parental authority.
  • Photos: they are used only as a model for the cover illustration, with your consent.
  • Keeping the data after delivery: only if you chose retention, to prepare other books or more detailed insights at your request, and to allow additional orders without redoing the analysis (for example the add-on, which adds the other book for those who received only one: The Book of the Character or The Practical User Manual of the Character), or to have a book received as a PDF printed later.
  • Sending you our newsletter (new books, new offers): by email, to the address given with an order (paid by card or with a gift code) or with the purchase of a gift code, only if you checked the sign-up box, which is never checked in advance. This is your consent (article 6.1.a of the GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Never the address of a person you are giving a book to, nor that of the person you are giving a code to as long as they have not ordered themselves. You can unsubscribe at any time, in one click, through the link in every email, or by writing to us.
  • Asking for your opinion: a single email, 14 days after delivery, with no reminder; this is our legitimate interest in improving our books. It is not sent to an address unsubscribed from the newsletter. Publishing your review on the website: only with your consent (checkbox), after it has been read.
  • Replying to your messages: this is our legitimate interest in answering you, and in improving our books through your feedback. Your address is used only for this exchange; it is not added to the newsletter.
  • Arranging the free session: this is the performance of our offer, which you request. To prepare it, the person on our team who holds it reads your book and preparation notes drawn from your analysis; they are bound by confidentiality. Your address and phone number are used only for this session.
  • Publishing resource people: this is your consent, given on the sign-up form or in writing, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Invoicing: this is a legal obligation.
  • Protecting the site against abuse (bots, repeated submissions): this is our legitimate interest.

It is used for nothing else: no advertising for anyone other than us, no resale, no commercial profiling. Your birth data is never used to send you our news.

5. How it is used

The calculations (astrology, numerology, Human Design…) are made by our own programs, on our workshop server, located in France (Gravelines).

The writing relies on Claude, Anthropic’s artificial intelligence tool, guided by our instructions. All the data of the book is processed by Claude.

Only the illustrations (cover and illustrated plates) are produced by another artificial intelligence tool, OpenAI’s. It receives the description of each image, the first name that appears on it and, if you send them, your photos and the chosen style. It receives neither the date, time or place of birth, nor the parents’ names.

We use the professional APIs of Anthropic and OpenAI, covered by their data processing agreements: the data of your orders never goes through a personal Claude or ChatGPT subscription.

No decision about you is made on the basis of this data: the book is a text to read, it triggers no refusal, no pricing and no selection.

6. Who can access it

It is never sold. It is shared only with our technical service providers, for this service only, each for its own role:

  • Clever Cloud (France): hosting of the site, its data, the photos and the books sent, on servers located in France (the books are deleted 30 days after they are sent);
  • OVHcloud (OVH SAS, France): our workshop server, located in France (Gravelines), where the calculations are made and the writing is prepared; the order data is copied there for the time it takes to produce the books, and a backup copy of the site’s database is kept there for 14 days;
  • Mollie (Mollie B.V., Netherlands): payment (we never see your card);
  • Brevo (Brevo SAS, France): sending emails and the newsletter;
  • Anthropic (Anthropic Ireland Limited, Ireland; data processed in the United States): Claude, the artificial intelligence tool that helps with the writing, and which processes all the data of the book;
  • OpenAI (OpenAI Ireland Ltd, Ireland; data processed in the United States): only the illustrations (cover and illustrated plates), based on their description, the first name that appears on them and, if you send them, your photos and the chosen style;
  • Cloudprinter (Cloudprinter.com B.V., Netherlands), if you order a printed version: it receives the book files, the recipient’s name, delivery address, phone number and email address, and entrusts the production to a partner printer close to the delivery address, then the shipping to a carrier.

Our settings with the artificial intelligence tools exclude the use of your data to train their models.

7. Transfers outside the European Union

Anthropic processes the data in the United States. This transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission (Decision 2021/914), incorporated into its data processing agreement.

OpenAI also processes the data in the United States. Its data processing agreement bases these transfers on the same standard contractual clauses or on an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

Brevo may have some data processed outside the European Economic Area, notably in the United States, by its own subprocessors. Its processing agreement then provides for standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision 2023/1795).

Mollie processes payment data as an independent controller. It states that some processing may take place outside the European Economic Area, with appropriate safeguards: see its privacy policy.

A printed book delivered outside the European Union (United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico) is produced in the country of delivery: the book files and the delivery address are sent there to Cloudprinter’s partner printer, because this is necessary to perform your order (article 49.1.b of the GDPR).

To find out which transfers concern your data and to obtain a copy of the applicable safeguards, write to us at contact@enchira-books.com.

8. How long it is kept

  • Order and birth data, photos included: if you chose deletion, erased 30 days after your books and handbooks are sent.
  • If you chose retention: 3 years at most after delivery. Before the end of this period, we ask you by email whether you wish to renew it; if you do not answer, the data is erased. Never any automatic renewal. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
  • Books given to another person: they choose, through a link received with their books, erasure 30 days after sending (or within 48 hours if that period has passed) or retention for 3 years at most after sending. Without an answer, the data is kept 30 days after sending, then erased; an email reminds them 10 days before. If their address was not given, the question is put to the buyer, who passes it on.
  • Add-on: when ordering it, you choose again between erasure 30 days after it is sent and retention for 3 years at most after it is sent. This choice applies to all the data of the character, including that of the first order, which is erased at the same time.
  • Printing a book already received as a PDF: possible as long as the character’s data is kept; it does not change how long that data is kept. The delivery address is erased 30 days after the printing is prepared.
  • Order started but not paid: erased after 30 days.
  • Gift code: the buyer’s email, the first name and the message are erased 6 months after the end of the code (use, cancellation or expiry); a purchase never paid is erased after 30 days. The code, its value, its dates and the payment reference are kept with the invoice, as the law requires.
  • Email address for the newsletter: until you unsubscribe, and at most 3 years after your last purchase or your last exchange with us; it is then deleted. Erasing the data of an order does not delete it (these are two separate uses): ask us, and we will unsubscribe it too. An unsubscribed address is kept, with no other use, as proof of your choice, then deleted at the end of the same retention period.
  • Review: once published, it stays online until you ask for its removal; if it is not published, it is deleted 1 year after it was sent. Deleting the order data does not delete it: it only contains what you wrote.
  • Message (“Contact us” page): deleted 1 year after the last exchange, or sooner at your request.
  • Session request (“Support” page): deleted 1 year after the last exchange, or sooner at your request.
  • Resource person profile: if published, until you ask for its removal; if unpublished or removed, deleted 1 year after its last change.
  • Invoice: 10 years, as the law requires. It does not contain the birth data.
  • Proof of your consents (box, text version, date): kept with the invoice. It does not contain the birth data.
  • Books sent: downloadable for 30 days after they are sent, then erased from our servers (earlier if your data is erased before). Remember to keep a copy.

9. Your rights

At any time you can access, correct or delete your data, restrict its use, object to it, receive a copy of it in a common format, or withdraw your consent. Withdrawing your consent does not affect processing already carried out with that consent.

Your right to correct your data remains intact after the order: we correct the data we keep. However, books already calculated and written on wrong answers are not redone free of charge: this is why the form asks you to read everything again before paying (see the terms of sale).

Write to us at contact@enchira-books.com: we answer within one month. We may ask you to prove your identity if the request requires it.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

10. Security

Communications with the website are encrypted. The data and photos are stored in a private space that only our server can access; a photo can only be opened through a temporary link. The books are sent to you through personal, temporary download links.

11. Cookies and storage on your device

The site sets no advertising tracker and no audience measurement cookie. It only uses:

  • a cookie that remembers the site language;
  • a draft of the form, kept in your browser while you fill it in, so that nothing is lost if the page reloads. It stays on your device, and it is erased when the order is sent or by the “Clear everything and start over” button.

Audience measurement. To know how many people visit the site, which pages they read and where they come from, our own server counts page views, without cookies and without any third-party provider. Your IP address and browser are used only to compute a fingerprint valid for one day, which is never stored as such and is erased the next day. Only anonymous totals remain (visitors per day, pages viewed, referring site), kept for 25 months. These statistics are used by Enchira alone; they are never matched with your orders or passed on to anyone. If your browser asks not to be tracked (Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track”), nothing is counted.

Mollie’s payment page applies its own policy.

12. People under 15

An order concerning a person under 15 is placed by a holder of parental authority, who gives consent on their behalf.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. The version that applies to your order is the one displayed when you placed it; its date appears at the top of this page.

This English text is a translation of the French version, which prevails in case of difference.
