This English text is a translation of the French version, which prevails in case of difference.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the sale, on enchira-books.com, of personalized books and handbooks calculated from a person's birth data, delivered as PDF files and, depending on the offer, in a printed version. 2. Nature of the books

The books and handbooks are tools for personal reflection. They do not predict the future, do not say who the person is and do not replace the advice of a doctor, a psychologist or any other professional. Their writing relies on an artificial intelligence tool, guided by our instructions.

Prices are in euros, all taxes included. VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code (CGI).

For a printed book, the price of printing and shipping is added to that of the offer. It is calculated at the time of the order according to the country of delivery (and the state or province, for the United States and Canada), based on our printer's rates, and displayed before payment: the price paid is the price displayed. It applies to all the delivery countries of Article 6. In the Practical User Manual of the Character, Book of the Character and Complete Pack offers with printed books, the printed Essential Booklet is free: it goes in the same parcel, at no extra cost.

A promo code and a gift code are entered at the last step of the order form (see Articles 7 bis and 7 ter).

3 bis. Add-on: adding the other book

The add-on brings the other book to whoever received the Practical User Manual of the Character offer or the Book of the Character offer: the Book of the Character to whoever received the Character's Practical User Manual of the Character, and vice versa. The same applies to an order of the former Base Pack, which contained one of the two books, as chosen. It is ordered on the “Add to your order” page, with the number and the email address of the original order, once that order has been delivered, and only once per original order.

Gift order: the email address to give is that of the person who received the books as a gift. It is that person, and not the buyer, who orders in their own name the add-on, the upgrade to a higher offer (Article 3 ter) or the later printing (Article 3 quater).

If the data of the original order is still kept: €60 as a PDF to add the Book of the Character, €50 as a PDF to add the Practical User Manual of the Character. The book is written from that data, with nothing new to fill in.
€90 as a PDF, if it has been deleted: the full form is filled in again and the character is recalculated.
The added book can also be printed: the price of printing and shipping is then added (Article 3).

The add-on contains this book only: no new Tale, no new Character Sheet, no new Essential Booklet. A gift code can pay for it. Articles 4 to 7 apply to it.

When you order the add-on, you choose the data retention period again: deletion 30 days after the add-on is sent, or retention for at most 3 years after it is sent. This choice applies to all the data of the character, including that of the original order (see the privacy policy).

3 ter. Upgrade from the Essential Booklet offer to a higher offer

Whoever received the Essential Booklet offer is entitled to a discount of €55, its price, on the Practical User Manual of the Character offer, the Book of the Character offer or the Complete Pack, with or without a printed book.

It is ordered on the “Add to your order” page, with the number and the email address of the original order, once that order has been delivered, and only once per original order. The discount applies whether or not the data of that order is still kept; if it has been deleted, the full form is filled in again and the character is recalculated. Only the books that the original order did not bring are delivered: no new Essential Booklet, no new Character Sheet. A gift code can pay for it. Articles 4 to 7 apply to it, and the retention period is chosen again, as for the add-on.

3 quater. Printing a book already received as a PDF

Whoever received the Book of the Character or the Practical User Manual of the Character as a PDF, without printing, can have it printed later, one book or both, for the price of printing and shipping (Article 3).

Printing is ordered on the “Have your books printed” page, with the number and the email address of the order that brought the book, once that order has been delivered, and only once per book. It is possible only as long as the data of that order is kept: 30 days or at most 3 years after delivery, according to the choice made at the time of the order. The print files are remade from that data: the printed book is the one that was delivered as a PDF. No new book is delivered as a PDF.

This order does not change the retention period of the character's data; the delivery address is deleted 30 days after the printing is prepared. The book arrives at the latest 30 days after payment in France and in the European Union, and at the latest 40 days after elsewhere. A gift code can pay for it. Articles 5, 6, 6 bis and 7 apply to it: the printed book, being personalized, is not subject to the right of withdrawal.

4. Order and accuracy of the data

The order is placed through the website's form. The calculations depend entirely on the answers given: first names, surnames, date, time and place of birth. Before paying, you review a complete summary and you confirm that it is accurate.

Once this confirmation is given and payment is made, the books are calculated and written from these answers. Books drawn up from incorrect answers are not redone free of charge. Write to us as soon as possible in case of error: if the writing has not started, we correct it at no cost.

For an order for the benefit of another person, you declare that you have obtained their explicit permission, or that you hold parental authority if they are under 15.

5. Payment and invoice

Payment is made online, on Mollie's secure page (Mollie B.V., Netherlands); we never see your card number. The order is final once payment is accepted, or once it is validated if a gift code or a promo code covers the whole price; you then receive a confirmation email.

An invoice is issued for each paid order and for each gift code purchase. It is sent to you by email, as a PDF; it includes the statement “TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI” (VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code).

6. Delivery times and delivery

You can order from any country in the world: PDF books are sent everywhere. Printed books are shipped to France, to the other countries of the European Union (French overseas regions included), to the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.

PDF books are sent to you by email, usually 3 to 5 days after payment, and at the latest 15 days after. They can be read with any PDF reader, on a computer, tablet or phone, and can be printed for your personal use. The download link is valid for 30 days: save your files within that period.

Printed books are manufactured and then shipped by our printer, Cloudprinter, which entrusts the manufacturing to a partner printer close to the delivery address, usually 15 to 20 days after the PDFs are sent. They arrive at the latest 30 days after payment in France and in the European Union and at the latest 40 days after elsewhere. Outside the European Union, any customs duties and import taxes are payable by the recipient.

6 bis. Delivery problems, refunds and guarantees

For any problem, write to us at contact@enchira-books.com or call +33 6 99 37 47 41, quoting the order number.

Book not received on time: you can ask us in writing to deliver within a reasonable additional period, then cancel the order if we do not deliver. You can cancel it immediately in the cases provided for by law, in particular if we refuse to deliver or if the agreed date was essential for you. All sums paid are then refunded to you within 14 days following the cancellation.
Download link expired or file unreadable: we send you the books again free of charge. If the data of the order has been deleted and the book can no longer be sent again, your rights under the guarantees below remain intact.
Printed book damaged, defective or lost in transit: let us know as soon as possible; a photo helps us handle the request, but it is not mandatory. We have it reprinted and sent again free of charge. You do not have to send us back the damaged book, unless we ask you to: the return costs are then borne by us.
Error on our part (another person's book, data different from that of the validated summary): the book is redone free of charge or, if you prefer, refunded.

These commitments are in addition to the legal guarantees, set out in Article 11, and do not limit them: printed books benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity of goods and the guarantee against hidden defects, PDF books from the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content.

A refund is made to the payment method used, within the time limits provided by law for the remedy exercised. A promo code discount reduces the price: it is not a payment and is therefore not refunded. The part paid with a gift code is returned to you in the form of a new code of the same value.

7. Right of withdrawal

Printed books: made according to the person's data and clearly personalized, they are not subject to the right of withdrawal (Article L221-28, 3°, of the French Consumer Code, Code de la consommation).

PDF books: these are digital content supplied without a physical medium. Before paying, you expressly consent to their supply beginning before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal as soon as this supply begins (Article L221-28, 13°). This agreement is confirmed to you in the order confirmation email.

This does not change anything regarding the guarantees of Article 6 bis and Article 11.

7 bis. Gift codes

A promo code does not apply to the purchase of a gift code.

A gift code is bought on the “Give a book” page. Its value is either the price of the offer chosen at the time of purchase (for an offer with a printed book, printing and shipping to France included), or a custom amount chosen by the buyer, in whole euros, from €20 to €200. If the book is delivered to another country, the price of printing and shipping is recalculated at the time of the order: any additional amount is paid by card. It is sent by email to the buyer once payment is accepted.

It is valid for 12 months from purchase; the end date appears in the email. After that date, it can no longer be used.
It pays for a single order, in whole or in part.
If it is worth more than the offer ordered, the remainder is returned in the form of a new code, valid until the same date and subject to the same rules; it is sent with the order confirmation. A remainder of less than €5 is not returned. If it is worth less, the difference is paid online at the time of the order.
It is neither refundable nor exchangeable for cash, subject to the right of withdrawal below.
It can be passed on freely: whoever holds the code can use it. Keep it like a gift card; a code that is lost or used by a third party is not replaced.
The order placed with a code follows these terms, in particular the accuracy of the data (Article 4) and the absence of a right of withdrawal on the books themselves (Article 7).

Right of withdrawal on the purchase of the code: the code is not in itself a personalized book. The buyer therefore has 14 days from the purchase to withdraw, without having to give a reason, by an unambiguous statement: online, on the page “Withdraw from the contract here” (link at the bottom of every page), which immediately sends an acknowledgment of receipt by email; or by an email to contact@enchira-books.com, a letter to the address of Article 1, or the model form of Article 12. The code is then cancelled and its price refunded within 14 days, to the payment method used. If the code has already been used for an order, that order continues: we contact the buyer to agree on the refund.

Codes may also be given by us (promotional operations, partners): they follow the same rules, except for withdrawal, which does not apply since there is no purchase.

7 ter. Promo codes

Promo codes may be offered during promotional operations or by partners. Each code carries its own conditions, stated with it: amount or percentage of the discount, eligible offers, validity period, number of uses.

The discount is calculated on the price of the offer chosen; a gift code can then pay for all or part of the remainder. Only one promo code per order.
Depending on the code: a single use per email address, or a single use in total (single code). A code that is used up, expired or deactivated can no longer be used.
The code is checked at the time of payment; the discount is secured only once the order has been paid for. It is neither refundable nor exchangeable for cash, and does not apply to the purchase of a gift code.

11. Legal guarantees

The two boxes below reproduce, in translation, the regulatory models of French law: the first applies to printed books, the second to PDF books.

Printed books: legal guarantee of conformity and guarantee against hidden defects

The consumer has a period of two years from the delivery of the goods to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity in the event of a lack of conformity appearing. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity and not the date on which it appeared.

Where the contract of sale of the goods provides for the supply of digital content or a digital service on a continuous basis for a period of more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the planned period of supply. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or the digital service and not the date on which it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity entails an obligation for the professional, where applicable, to supply all the updates necessary to keep the goods in conformity.

The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to the repair or replacement of the goods within thirty days of their request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them.

If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial guarantee.

If the consumer requests the repair of the goods, but the seller imposes replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date of replacement of the goods.

The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and obtain a full refund in return for returning the goods, if:

1° The professional refuses to repair or replace the goods;
2° The repair or replacement of the goods takes place after a period of thirty days;
3° The repair or replacement of the goods causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer definitively bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
4° The lack of conformity of the goods persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.

The consumer is also entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or to the termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination of the contract. The consumer is then not required to request the repair or replacement of the goods beforehand.

The consumer is not entitled to terminate the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.

Any period during which the goods are immobilized for repair or replacement suspends the guarantee that remained to run until the delivery of the goods restored to good condition.

The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code (code de la consommation).

A seller who in bad faith obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).

The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects pursuant to Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code (code civil), for a period of two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee gives entitlement to a price reduction if the goods are kept or to a full refund in return for returning the goods.

PDF books: legal guarantee of conformity of digital content

The consumer has a period of two years from the supply of the digital content or digital service to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity in the event of a lack of conformity appearing. For a period of one year from the date of supply, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity and not the date on which it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity entails an obligation to supply all the updates necessary to keep the digital content or digital service in conformity.

The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the digital content or digital service brought into conformity without undue delay following their request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them.

The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the digital content or digital service, or may terminate the contract and obtain a full refund in return for giving up the digital content or digital service, if:

1° The professional refuses to bring the digital content or digital service into conformity;
2° Bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity is unjustifiably delayed;
3° Bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity cannot take place without costs imposed on the consumer;
4° Bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity causes major inconvenience to the consumer;
5° The lack of conformity of the digital content or digital service persists despite the professional's unsuccessful attempt to bring it into conformity.

The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to the termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination of the contract. The consumer is then not required to request that the digital content or digital service be brought into conformity beforehand.

Where the lack of conformity is minor, the consumer is entitled to cancel the contract only if the contract does not provide for the payment of a price.

Any period during which the digital content or digital service is unavailable for the purpose of bringing it back into conformity suspends the guarantee that remained to run until the supply of the digital content or digital service once again in conformity.

The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code (code de la consommation).

A professional who in bad faith obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 242-18-1 of the French Consumer Code).

The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects pursuant to Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code (code civil), for a period of two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee gives entitlement to a price reduction if the digital content or digital service is kept or to a full refund in return for giving up the digital content or digital service.

12. Withdrawal form (purchase of a gift code)

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
